September 22nd 2021, the Minister of State, Minister of Tourism and Leisure organized an inter-ministerial meeting which brought together various Government stakeholders and a team from Nchimsy Teq; the developers of the TourCMR App.
The meeting which took place in the conference hall of the Ministry of Tourism and Leisure (MINTOUL), was aimed at developing strategies for the promotion of tourism in Cameroon, through the TourCMR App.
TotalEnergies AFCON 2021 is a major international football event that offers a wonderful opportunity to promote Cameroon’s beauty and tourist destinations.
To ensure that we make the most of AFCON 2021, MINTOUL is building a collaboration with other Government departments, including;
- The Ministry of Culture (MINAC),
- Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MINPOSTEL),
- Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts (MINPMESA),
- The General Delegation for National Security (GDNS), and
- The National Gendarmerie (SED)
These distinguished departments all answered present at the meeting, aiming to add their energies to the efforts of MINTOUL, in contributing to the growth and development of the TourCMR App.
The meeting kicked off with a presentation of the TourCMR App by the team from Nchimsy Teq. Stakeholders did not fail to express their excitement and appreciation for the technology, heavily applauding the uniqueness of the innovation.
Fully aware of the value and stakes involved in the successful accomplishment of the TourCMR project, the Ministry of Tourism and Leisure is strongly invested in its realization, as a Government body.
MINTOUL is committed to implementing strategies for the exploitation of this digital platform, which is going to be an essential instrument in the promotion of both online and outdoor tourism in Cameroon.
Discussions
Discussions revolved around the improvement of quality and content of the TourCMR app, to meet the standards of both local and international users. Here’s what we all know… To fully exploit the benefits of the TourCMR app for the promotion of the image of Cameroon during and after the 2021 AFCON, we have to ensure that the app is of truly outstanding quality and standard. For this, certain key aspects of the application have to be put in place, including; the provision of accurate information on the app, security, and advanced features. All these elements are very important for tourists visiting Cameroon, and were at the centre of discussions at the meeting with MINTOUL. That said, the impact-rich meeting ended with some call-to-action resolutions and assignments for all the different stakeholders in order to get everything ready for the development and official launching of the TourCMR App.
